Hamidreza Naeimi’s Socrates translated to French

‘Socrates’, a play by Hamidreza Naeimi, will be released in France holding Sanaz Fallah Fard’s translation, IBNA reports. It is the first artistic play of an Iranian on the life of ‘Socrates’.

Fallah Fard said that she is working on the play’s translation and has held several meetings with the officials of France Embassy in Tehran in order to help the work’s publication. She has also held talks with some French publishers for the book’s release. Negotiations were also made for staging the work at the Festival d’Avignon and several other festivals. Fallah Fard added: “The work is significant since it is the first artistic play of an Iranian on the life of Socrates. Hopefully it will receive wide reception in France as it did in Iran.” Directed by Hamidreza Naeimi, the play was staged in the international competition section of the 32nd edition of Fajr International Theater Festival.
