German Book Features Contemporary Iranian Illustrations

 

“Anarestan” is the title of an exquisite book containing selected works of contemporary Iranian illustrators that is recently published in Germany.

The book is set in both Farsi and Deutsch and features works by eminent Iranian illustrators such as: Amir Shaabanipour – Rashin Kheiriyeh -Farshid Shafiey – Nooshin Safakhoo -Ali Boozari – Ali Reza Goldouzian -Negin Ehtesabian – Atieh Bozorg Sohrabi -Mitra Abdollahi – Hassan Moosavi -Hoda Haddadi – Morteza Zahedi -Reza Maktabi – Atefe Maleki Joo -Narges Mohammadi – Fereshteh Najafi.

The book also features a foreword article by Ali Boozari, titled “Trends in Iranian children’s book illustration” which thoroughly introduces Iranian illustration trends and interests.

As stated in the publisher’s website, Anaarestan is published as a part of the exhibition of the same title at the International Youth Library Munich:Schloss Blutenburg, München, 27. September 2013 bis 31. Januar 2014.

According to the publisher, a sister-book Illustration Band 2 “Erdbeerland – current children’s book illustration from Germany” will by published with the opening of the exhibition in May 2014.For more information on the book and exhibition, see here.
